We are open and accepting reservations with some restrictions: Our maximum capacity is now 50 guests. Tables must be 6 ft. apart and only 4 guests per table. Tables are already marked and placed. Further details on seating requirements will be discussed when contract is signed. Management is taking extra precautions in accordance with the CDC guidelines. We have new procedures for sanitizing our venue making it safe for all of our guests. We are following the strict guidelines recommended by the CDC. Rent Modesto's Historic Sylvan Improvement Club!
Our Club is open to the public and available to rent
Sylvan Improvement Club is a non-profit organization which has been active in Stanislaus County since 1907. Its historical purpose is to improve, beautify, preserve and provide for the general benefit of the community. The Club strives to identify and act upon opportunities for community beautification and improvement, and to provide philanthropic donations that meet its mission and goals.
​​​​​​​​​​​​​​It has a dance floor, large kitchen, dining area, separate room suitable for buffet set-up, outdoor brick barbecue, patio and lawn area. It will accommodate up to 150 guests (but not at this time due to Covid precautions, as noted at top of the page). Tables and chairs are available. It’s a perfect place for family celebrations, business meetings or special events.
What Kind of Event Would You Like to Have?
Weddings
Our facility is perfect if you are looking for a small to medium-sized wedding. We provide a grassy outdoor area but sessions can also be held indoors.
Receptions
Our hall is ready after your special wedding ceremony. We can fit up to 150 guests. There is a dance floor, long tables perfect for eating, and a bar to set up for your drinks.
Charity Events
As a charity organization ourselves, we know how important it is to give back to our community. So, we invite other organizations to use our club. It's the perfect place to hold a special event for your charity of choice.
Birthdays
Have a Sweet 16 you would love to throw for your daughter? We have had a lot of birthday parties thrown at our club. Celebrate in style!
Anniversaries
We have hosted several anniversaries. Because of its size, our hall gives you an opportunity to throw an emotional anniversary in very close settings. So you can share the memories in more fond way.
Corporate
Luncheons, dinners, or other such type of corporate events makes our hall one of the better choices in the area. We also have prepared a sound system with microphone, too.
